Falmouth is a bustling town, with plenty of fine restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. It is ideal as a base for exploring the West of Cornwall and is well served by bus, train and ferries for getting about. If you have come by car there are many wonderful attractions within easy driving distance.

Within about 45 minutes, you could be in Penzance, the Lizard, Lands End or visiting St. Ives, with its acclaimed Tate Modern Gallery. Alternatively, you could visit some of the many superb local gardens, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan or the constantly changing and developing Eden Project.

Falmouth, of course, is well known for its maritime history, and is a very popular area for the boating and sailing enthusiasts. The National Maritime Museum is a fascinating place to spend a few hours, and is ten minutes' walk from the hotel.

The twin castles of Pendennis and St. Mawes stand proud at the entrance to the Carrick Roads, and are well worth a visit.

This part of Cornwall boasts an exceptionally pleasant climate, with many exotic plants usually found in the more tropical areas of the world, which gives Falmouth its unique feel.

There are many excellent golf courses in the area and we have an arrangement for discounts on green fees with Falmouth Golf Club, which is beautifully situated with wonderful views over the sea. The local Leisure Centre, has an excellent gym, a large pool and various classes and activities, just five minutes' drive from the hotel.

There are many interesting walks in the surrounding areas and the South West coastal path passes through Falmouth's coastline. If you like to spend time at the beach, then you will appreciate the local safe, sandy beaches, at Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, Maenporth and Castle, all within 1 or 2 miles of the hotel.

You can catch Ferries to Truro, Trellissick Gardens, St. Mawes, and the Helford River from Prince of Wales Pier, five minutes' walk from the hotel, or how about catching a water taxi to Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek or the Sticky Prawn at Flushing (summer season only).
